A keen observer of life, Australiana Balladeer George Royter uses both his personal experiences and old timer’s recollections to weave these sentiments into poignant songs.

His live performances are filled with the stories and tales that bring the songs to life.

George has performed at many festivals including Tamworth Country Music, Illawarra Folk, Cobargo Folk, Mungindi Music, Gundagai Turning Wheel, The Man from Snowy River, John O’Brien and The Henry Lawson plus many other venues, concerts and workshops.

In late 2004 his song 'Rusho' was included in the ABC documentary 'Killers in Eden'.

In 2005 he was one of the top 50 most played on Community Radio worldwide, reaching number 11 position on the New York based chart and a Top 10 finalist in the Musicoz Awards for best Folk Artist of the year.

His music is country, in a modern bush ballad, easy listening style and he is best described as an ‘Australiana Balladeer’ 

He has released six albums and two EP’s to date with the first in 1983 and the latest in December 2023. All music is available on most streaming services.

As well as building his unique guitars, banjos and custom amplifiers, George also composes fingerstyle guitar, fretless banjo and autoharp pieces.

Through the years he has been a sought after guitar/music teacher and has helped many students on their music life paths.
